About Our Trip To The UK 

1.day; We started our trip to England, at 5:00am. We travelled with another school; called Ballasi. We travelled across Hungary, Austria, Germany . We took a break every four hours. After the 16 hour- long trip to Aachen, the team stayed in a hotel near the city.  

2.day; The team started the 7 hours -long trip to the Channel Tunnel. In Calais, our train started the journey under the English Channel at 12:00, but we arrived at 11:00 so we had to stay in the lounge and wait. After the train arrived, our bus got off the train. In the early evening hours, we visited Avebury. In Avebury there is a big stone circle. This circle is  bigger  than  Stonehenge. The circle is a neolithic henge monument. Then we went to Trowbridge, and we met  our exchange family. 

3.day; This day was the “hiking day”. We hiked on the Jurassic Coast. This Jurassic Coast is part of the English Channel . This part is a Jura age coastline. On this coast, a woman found the biggest dinosaur skeleton. After the Jurassic Coast, we saw the Lighthouse of Portland. Then we stopped between the Island of Portland and Weymouth on Chesil beach. This beach is a natural 26 kilometre long beach made of stones. We got some free time here. After that we moved  on to Weymouth, and there we got some free time, too. 

4.day; In the morning hours, we went to Castle Combe, which is a very old village built in the 16th.century. We went inside the temple there. In the village you can see the house of  Dr Doolittle. After Castle Combe,Then we continued  our day in  Dyrham park. In this park there is a Mansion, that we visited  with an organized tour. Before the tour, we got a bit of free time, in the garden. In the afternoon, we went to Bath, which is a Roman aged bath town. In the town, we saw the Poultney Bridge, the Royal Crescent, and the Circus. The team visited the Bath Abbey .  This city is the second most visited town, after London. 

5.day; In the morning, we saw the beautiful town, Bretford-on -Avon. We didn’t spend that much time here, because after that we went to Longleat. Longleat is a big park. There is a safari, an entertainment park, and a castle. At first, we went inside the safari park, and there we saw a lot of animals. In the afternoon, we saw the castle from the inside, with a guided tour. The castle was built in the 17th. century, and nowadays the owner lives there with his family in the west side of the castle. We visited the entertainment park, and the maze, too. Some people got lost, but luckiy we found them:) 

6.day Tthe last day, we went to Winchester where we saw the abbey from outside only, which is the largest stone age abbey. We also saw the old castle and the Great Hall. After visiting Winchester we started our journey to Dover. In Dover we got on the ferry, and there, we had dinner. We arrived in Dunkerque.  from where we started our trip back to Aachen. 

7.day; At 9.00, we started our 16 hours trip back to Budapest. We arrived at 2.00am
